Challenge:
Prior to listing, Epistem had a fragmented business model. The company had hired a new CEO in March 2007, ahead of the listing; remained largely unknown; and resultant lack of investment.

Solution:
De Facto were brought in to assist in raising the company’s profile prior to listing on the AIM. We supported Epistem with both investor relations and corporate communications, positioning Epistem as a pioneer in epithelial stem cell research. We reached out to the financial community to leverage Epistem’s business successes to achieve a clear understanding of the business proposition, its intentions and ethical values.

Result:
De Facto ensured attitudes towards the company became more positive, with the following results. Ultimately, the company raised a 40% increase over the listing price; was nominated for AIM’s ‘Best Newcomer’ award 2007; and is considered one of the most successful companies on the market.
