David Sowells
David is Managing Director of Bell Pottinger Public Affairs (BPPA) - the UK’s leading public affairs agency. Specialising in political, government and public affairs advice, BPPA’s team of 28 consultants creates tailored political communications strategies for organisations across a range of sectors, including energy and environment, food and drink, sport and leisure, healthcare, transport, financial services, local government and planning.

David joined Bell Pottinger from retailer JML, where he was Head of Operations. David is a former consultant at The Communication Group and GPC. His past clients include McDonald's, Vickers, 3i, Camelot, BNFL and the Police Federation. At GPC, David founded a very successful specialist unit focusing on the communication and media industries, advising such clients as Channel 4, Vodafone and British Music Rights.

Prior to public affairs consultancy, David worked with The Rt. Hon. Nick Brown MP as a member of Gordon Brown's Economic Secretariat. David was Public Affairs Director for Turner Broadcasting from 1997-1999 and for AOL Time Warner from 2001-2002.
